Our Campaigns Team seeks to build pressure for urgent action on the poverty and the housing crises through a wide range of tactics, including protests, forums, community outreach, mutual aid, media engagement, lobbying, policy and research work, and other tools.
Our Campaigns Team is planning for the next 6-12 months. At our first planning meeting, we decided that our Top 3 Campaigns Issues would be:
-Raising the rate of Centrelink payments
-Building more public housing
-Tackling empty homes
(We will also be attention to what national campaigns Centrelink’s “Mutual Obligations”, and Partner Income Tests.)
And for our Top 3 Team Goals, we picked:
-Growing our membership, and getting more members active
-More collaborating with other activist groups, and marginalised communities
-Building our Policy and Research Team
