Saturday June 6, 12pm-3:30pm
SACOSS, 47 King William Road, Unley (enter from Young Street); Zoom option available
Every few months, we host a free lunch for all members and supporters, followed by an educational forum on a topic related to our interests, and updates about our latest campaigns and community work.
This June, our theme is: ‘Solidarity: All-Year Round, Not Just On Survivial Day’, and how we can deepen our support for and connections with First Nations communities. The issues we fight for are all connected. Housing injustice, poverty, racism, disability discrimination do not happen separately. Real solidarity means showing up for each other all-year round, building relationships across communities, and fighting together for the systems change we all need.
Our guest speaker is Susan Dixon-Newchurch, a Kaurna leader who has been a strong voice for First Nations justice for decades. Susan was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award last year at the Port Adelaide Enfield Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Awards, and is a delegate for the South Australia’s Aboriginal Voice To Parliament.
Hope you can join us!!
