It’s an emergency.

But rents are still allowed to soar. And homes that could house people are still allowed to remain empty.

The government’s building several hundred public homes, but with 7,000 people homeless and 15,000 people on the waiting-list, that will hardly make a dent.

It’s a housing emergency. That means we need governments to do more than baby-steps: we need governments to take every step they can take, to make affordable, secure housing a reality for all.

We need more public housing (thousands of extra homes, not hundreds!!), and in the meantime, we need decisive action: a rent-cap, a vacancy-tax!!

No unlimited rent rises in a housing emergency!! No empty homes in a housing emergency!!
