This week, Anti-Poverty Network SA, Better Renting, SACOSS (South Australian Council of Social Service), Shelter SA, and Uniting Communities, released a Joint Letter on Renting Reform, signed by over 40 state and national organisations.

The letter, which you can read here, calls for the State Government to act to increase protections for renters, by:

1. Capping rent increases to inflation
2. Abolishing no-cause evictions
3. Introducing minimum energy-efficient standards
4. Allowing renters the reasonable right to have pets

Please share the letter, far and wide, and take action, by writing to your local MP, as well as the Minister for Consumer Business Affairs, Andrea Michaels, encouraging them to act to address huge rent rises, and other injustices in our rental market.
