For decades, people living in poverty have been forced silent by mainstream media and neglected by our government. We’re told that it’s our fault that we’re poor, that we should be ashamed and embarrassed of our situations.
When we put the blame on ourselves, we let the governments that failed us off the hook.
We know it’s not our fault. We are not the problem. We will not be silenced.
There’s power in solidarity – sharing your story, whatever that is, is one way of fighting back.
Whether it’s about dealing with a punishing Job Agency, living in poverty, struggling for a house in a saturated and expensive private rental market, or something else related to life on low income, we would love to hear about your experience.
